Trimming tubes on nozzles
The correct length of tubes on dispenser nozzles, sprays and triggers is an important factor in ensuring easy and even application of the product. To complete the product, it is necessary to select the optimal tube size and trim them accurately and evenly.

Tube trimming technology for nozzles
How to choose the ideal length? There are some nuances to consider:
- if the tube is shorter than necessary, the dispenser will only work properly when the bottle is full. As soon as the contents decrease, the dispenser will start pumping air instead of the product;
- if the tube is long, it will rest against the packaging material or lie on its ‘tail’. When the tip rests against the bottom, access to air and the product is blocked, there are no conditions for creating the necessary pressure, and therefore the dispensing of the contents stops. Sometimes, the rigid tube presses on the bottom, which bends and causes the bottle to lose stability. The long tube on the nozzles also prevents the collection of thick residue from the walls of the bottle. Shaking the packaging or removing the contents by hand is extremely inconvenient.
Proper trimming helps to pump out the contents without residue and prevents the dispenser from ‘spitting’. There are professional secrets that specialists use:
- cut at an angle that provides the necessary space for dispensing the product, i.e. there should be a small gap between the base of the bottle and the dip tube;
- it is important to leave enough length to bend it against the side wall of the container to ensure maximum dispensing.
The choice of tube also depends on the density of the material and the viscosity of the contents, as well as the presence of solid particles in the composition of the product. For liquid products, soft tubes are used, the tips of which should bend slightly at the bottom. For dense substances, hard tubes are suitable, directed straight down, barely touching the bottom surface.
Specialised equipment for cutting tubes at the nozzles is set up for standard and precise operation, which guarantees the quality of the process and excellent results. Cutting V-shaped tubes to the required length for any batch of nozzles will help save time and quickly assemble packaging products.
